This Type III hard coat anodization is a Mil-spec compliant product, providing hardness up to 70 Rockwell on any aluminum substrate part. Automatic Anodizing uses an electro-chemical approach, with anodization taking place within tanks filled with Type III sulfuric acid. Coatings, which can be clear or black, may be up to .003" thick, and can, cover areas up to 12 sq. ft. The final result is a highly protective hard coat that leaves the aluminum substrate well protected.

Additional services, including PTFE coating, grit blasting, and custom marking can be added to any Type III hard coat order.
